Product description
NEO TOOLS black insulating tape is a specialist accessory designed for insulating, securing and organising wires and cable harnesses. The product is 19 mm wide, 0.13 mm thick and 20 m long, which allows precise wrapping of both single wires and small electrical connections, including in places with limited access.
The use of flexible PVC and an elongation exceeding 125% allow the tape to fit precisely to the shape of the protected element and form a compact, even insulating layer. Dielectric strength above 40 kV/mm increases the material's resistance to electrical breakdown, while a fire test result of less than 1 second is an important parameter in applications requiring limited flame propagation. The NEO TOOLS tape is classified according to the designation EN 60454-3-1-1/F-PVC/60/R-Tp, which refers to self-adhesive electrical insulating tapes made of plasticised PVC.
The product can be used at temperatures from +5°C to +50°C. The recommended storage temperature is +10°C to +40°C. NEO TOOLS black insulating tape is ideal as equipment for electricians, installers, service technicians and DIY enthusiasts, especially for protecting the outer insulation of wires, reinforcing areas exposed to abrasion, wrapping small connections and organising cables – while its use should always be matched to the technical requirements of the specific installation.
Application
Protecting the outer insulation of wires
The tape can be used for additional covering of areas exposed to chafing or minor surface damage. Wrap the wire evenly, laying successive layers with a partial overlap.
Wrapping wire connectionsThe product works well as additional protection for a correctly made electrical connection. However, the tape should not replace appropriate connectors, heat-shrink sleeves or other required installation components.
Organising small cable bundles. The tape can be used to group wires running in the same direction. Do not wrap the cables too tightly so as not to deform them or limit the possibility of separating them later.
Reinforcing areas particularly exposed to wear
An additional layer of tape can be applied at points where the wire comes into contact with an edge, housing or other element that may cause abrasion of the insulation.
Protecting wire ends during installation
Temporarily wrapping the end can limit soiling, unravelling or accidental contact with other elements while work is being carried out. The tape must be removed before making the final connection.
Marking selected wires and harnessesThe black tape can be used to visually mark specific groups of cables, provided that conformity with the marking system used in the given installation is maintained.
Minor service and workshop work
The product may be useful when repairing appliances, power tools, workshop equipment and low-voltage installations, provided that its use complies with the technical documentation and safety rules.
Temporary fixing of light cables. The tape can help hold a cable in the correct position during installation. However, it should not be treated as a permanent structural element or a substitute for cable holders.
How to apply the tape correctly?
Clean and dry the surface before wrapping. Guide the tape evenly, tensioning it slightly and keeping an overlap between successive layers. Use it at temperatures from +5°C to +50°C. When finished, check that the wrapping is tight, does not lift and fully covers the protected area.
