The roughing tube is used for preparatory work when turning long and cross-cut timber. It must be extremely resistant to vibration, as it is the first tool to come into contact with the rotating workpiece and shapes the blank into a cylindrical form. It can also be used to rough-shape forms in advance. Applications:
