ATN - AITiN consists of aluminium (Al), titanium (Ti) and nitrogen (N)
The coating has a considerably higher heat insulation (900°C) and hardness (3300 – 3500 HV) than the TiN coating (550°C/2300 HV).
It is mainly used in cases of high wear and/or high temperature loads, e.g. with insufficient lubrication or without cooling.
The ATN coating combines the advantages of TiN, TiAIN and TiCN. In general, all-round coatings have the disadvantage of not being able to deliver top performance – not so the ATN coating. The ATN coating will therefore replace the three conventional coatings in the long term.
