Electric motor brushes.

An electric brush is a conductive element in direct contact with the commutator or slip ring, designed to provide the electrical connection between the moving and stationary parts of an electrical machine (electric motors).

Brushes are essentially current collectors. They take voltage from the stator and transfer it to the armature/rotor commutator. Electric current passes through the brushes. In addition, the brushes are subject to mechanical loads during armature rotation. There are certain requirements for them, and failure to meet them can lead to quite unfortunate consequences. Brushes are made mainly of graphite or carbon with the addition of various additives.

You need to monitor the condition (size) of the electric motor brushes. You also need to check the brush holder in the commutator assembly (e.g., the plastic brush holder is lost or damaged due to mechanical damage to the housing). Excessive wear or displacement of the brushes can lead to electric motor failure.
